Follow the steps below to connect your WhatsAPP account to n8n:
Once you follow all these steps, you will be able to connect and use your WhatsApp account in your n8n account:

#1 Create a personal Facebook account.
A personal Facebook account is a prerequisite for any Meta business activities. So if you don’t already have one, create one. This account will own/manage all business assets and API access.

#2 Set up a Facebook business page.
You need a business page to unlock Meta's business tools and API features.
From your profile, navigate to ‘Pages’, click ‘Create New’, choose ‘Business/Brand’, enter your business info, and publish.

#3 Set up a Facebook ad account (optional).
Not strictly required for basic WhatsApp API access, but useful if you plan to run ads or need advanced Facebook business tools.
Inside Meta Business Suite or Ads Manager, set up an ad account by entering your business/payment info.
Once you have a personal Facebook account and a Facebook Business Page, you can automatically access Meta Business Suite.
Just log in at business.facebook.com or find it via your profile menu. No separate or additional setup is required beyond having a Page.

#4 Set up a WhatsApp Business profile.
For basic business use, download and set up the WhatsApp Business app. This lets you communicate with customers, send broadcasts, and use simple automation features from your phone.
This account will be used for API messaging and business communication.
#5 Create a Meta business portfolio.
Meta Business Portfolio is the backend administrative hub that lets you manage all your business assets (Pages, ad accounts, Instagram accounts, product catalogues, WhatsApp profiles) from a single location. You use it for advanced asset control, permissions, and collaboration.
Creating a portfolio involves an additional step: you need at least one business asset (typically a Page).
Then you create the Portfolio to organise assets and assign roles or permissions. This setup is more relevant if you need to manage multiple assets or work as a team.
