In Retell AI, expressive mode is available for Platform voices which is used to control how your voice agent sounds.
As you can see from the screenshot, there are two categories of emotion tags available under ‘Expressive mode’:
- Auto emotion tags - Your voice agent decides when to use the selected tags. No prompt editing needed.
- Manual emotion tags - These are the tags you can type directly into your agent prompt.
Note: You can also type the emotion tags listed under ‘Auto emotion tags’ directly into your agent prompt. The user interface does not make this clear.
